About The Settle
The Settle is the long form of Prince Freddie's sleep stories. The free stories are written to be listened to. The Settle is written to be fallen asleep in.
Every night begins before the story does. Freddie arrives somewhere and lies down. Warm granite one night, day-warmed sand the next, cool flagstones by a garden wall. His ears stop searching. A long, slow sigh. Each paw finding the ground and staying there. His tail slowing, lowering, going still. Then the story starts.
One voice, one pace, and a wave that never drops away. Each telling runs close to half an hour and is built so that nothing in it rises. No music that swells, no turn that asks you to sit up, no ending you need to stay awake for. The story is told twice, slower and lower the second time. The sea stays where it is under every word.
It is the same village as the free stories, the same harbour and the same small corgi in a flat crown. What changes is the length, the pace, and everything that happens before the story starts.
A new telling every week, and the whole shelf from the start, in a private feed that plays in whatever podcast app you already use.
